The Giver
By: Lois Lowry
Personally, I think this book was my favorite non-series book.
It's about a boy in a town where you can only have two children- One boy and one girl, you're not allowed to make the children, it's someone elses job. Oh, and you can't see people naked unless they're old or babys, you can't say stuff like "I'm starving," and you have to tell your family unit everything. Oh, and you're not allowed to be turned on or have a crush or the give you medication so you don't feel turned on.
-real meaning of book now-
In this book, this kid who's name I don't remeber lives in this town. In this particular town, things happen such as releasing one twin if there are twins born, and releasing the old people as they get older. Nobody really gets to watch the releasing, though. After released, the people go to the otherworld. There is no color in this town, there is no emotion, and everything is basically set. You don't get to be unique like we are today, with hairstyles and clothing. When you become a 12 year, which is like school, you are selected for your job after being watched for a few months/weeks/idk how long, so the job fits you. One job, there is only one of. This man called The Receiver, chosen once every few years, holds all memorys of the past. When a new Receiver is chosen, he must give him all the memorys to keep safe over the years.
It's an awesome book, Read it noww <3

It seems to be interesting. I'll look up for it. ♥
Who's the author, by the way? I don't think I'll be able to find it knowing just the name... |:

Re: The Giver
I finished reading the whole thing. We're supposed to read it in class.
And everybody's colorblind, they have no emotion, etc. And they ban all sexual thoughts.

Yeah, I read that book back in Middle School.
It's an amazing book.
It has great meaning, and extraordinary detail.
